Inspiration Station: A Pickaway County Destination in the Making – from Guest Bloggers Jan Shannon and Kim Miller
A desire to learn, prosper, and grow – this should be the opportunity for every child. The Inspiration Station, a project of the Pickaway County Community Foundation in Circleville, Ohio, is that opportunity for children in Pickaway County and surrounding counties to have that experience outside of the classroom. Through a variety of exhibits, activities, programs and events, children and families will be introduced to design-thinking methodology: engineering, testing, and interacting. During interactive play they will be able to make local connections to careers in industry and agriculture. Also, families and children will have the ability to learn more about the unique geographic location of the water and nature of Pickaway County.
The Inspiration Station recognizes that children from the ages of 18 month to 15 years of age need challenges and a place outside of the classroom setting to explore. Outside of the wonderful park system within Pickaway County, there is not an open opportunity for this type of exploration and growth. This facility will provide this. Additionally, the new Pickaway County Ag and Event Center draws many people from outside of the county and state, this will be a facility that will allow visitors to Pickaway County an opportunity to step away from what brings them here to allow their children a diversion in a safe learning environment. Central Ohio is seeing much growth and providing a facility that will allow our children to become more competitive in the job market by having exposure at a younger age to a STEM related facility will potentially provide them with greater opportunities than they may have previously had.
